The elimination of the frames and the optimization of the space are two of the priorities of all Android manufacturers right now when we talk about the design section, and it is not for less, we are not in 2009, and we want beautiful and light terminals, and manufacturers have a duty-if they want us to buy their products-to materialize these wishes.

And, in fact, the manufacturers are responding very well – although some have struggled to adapt. But, despite this, there is still a small impediment regarding this adaptation, and both iOS and Android share this problem, do you want to know what it is?
Optimize applications, the big problem that Google and Apple can do little about
With the arrival of phones without frames, the change in the aspect ratio of the screen has also come, and that is something that we love, since many of the manufacturers, not to mention everyone, have taken the 18: 9 as a reference, although it is true that the exact relationship oscillates in some terminals like the iPhone X.
Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S, Samsung Galaxy S9, LG G7 or OnePlus 6 are some of the terminals that already incorporate this type of designs for a couple of generations, but it is in the middle range where we are starting to see the first terminals of this style . This format is here to stay. But, as it usually happens when a change of this magnitude is carried out, it takes time to adapt to it, both by users and manufacturers. But beware, also apart from the developers.
And precisely, the problem that both Android and iOS share with 18: 9 mobile phones is the same: the lack of adaptation of some applications. And this is something that, over time, can become very annoying in our day to day. And, as you can see in the image, unfortunately there are applications that are not yet properly adapted to a different aspect ratio at 16: 9, despite the fact that in Android these are rescaled, contrary to what happens in iOS.
Developers must adapt their applications to the formats of current smartphones
However, even if they are rescaled, there are still certain sections in which we do not see quite well. In this image, you have a Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S with an incredible reading application called Bookari, which, unfortunately, does not support this mode to full screen, and, donne should show a lower bar with several options, simply we a black bar.
MIUI 9 even warns us in the settings -in the section “Full Screen”, that there are certain applications that are not yet optimized to be displayed in full screen in a different format than 16: 9, and, of course, It is the task of the developers to adapt them if they do not want to be overcome by their competitors or other new applications.
The presence in this list of non-optimized applications of big names such as Adobe Acrobat, Google Analytics, Dropbox or Google Keep is striking. But this is not something that should worry you, since the rescaling only works badly in very specific applications, like the one we just showed you, in the rest, it does not usually give any kind of problem. However, this small problem of lack of adaptation draws attention that can worsen our experience with some applications.
