As you can see in our table, we have three phones in the table with the same size. It is our protagonist, the Galaxy A9 , the Honor Play and the Huawei Mate 20 lite that also share resolution although the nature of their panels is different. The Samsung phone bets this way for Super AMOLED technology while the Honor and Huawei equipment stays on the IPS LCD. The same happens with the terminal of Xiaomi and the one of BQ, although these two even lower the screen size until 5.99 and 5.65 inches, respectively.
These proportions could give us a clue about the measurements of the phones, but it is not always true that unless the screen is lighter. The bq Aquaris X2 Pro for example is the thickest with 8.35 mm, followed by the Galaxy A9 itself, with 7.8 mm. The galactic smartphone is also the heaviest -eye with that- with a weight of 183 grams, followed by Honor Play -image just below- and the Mate 20 lite.
The phone stands out again (this time in positive) for its RAM options, with 6 and 8 GB, while the rest oscillate between 4 or 6 GB – in the case of the Honor and the Huawei model – under these lines- , they will be the only options available.
At the Samsung processor level, Xiaomi and BQ share a chip, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 at 2.2 GHz, while the cousins Honor and Huawei bet on the brand of the house, with a Kirin CPU 970 and 710 , respectively. In this case Honor would be the one that stands out from the group, with a Kirin 970 processor of the high-end, with eight cores and manufactured under 10 nanometer technology, the same that embraces the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835.
This will undoubtedly go down in the background when we talk about the camera . And is that little can be done against the power deployed by Samsung . It is still necessary to see how his photographic system performs, but for the moment he wins the race in number, with no less than four sensors on his back with resolutions of 24, 10, 8 and 5 megapixels. The rest of the competitors stay in both chambers, with proposals ranging from the Mi A2 of Xiaomi with 20 and 12 MP to the Aquaris X2 Pro of BQ with 12 and 5 MP – we remind you, more megapixels is not always synonymous with better photos, but on paper, these are the numbers we can compare.
With Android 8 Oreo (in different versions) as operating system -eye because BQ comes with Android One, like Xiaomi-, again there are three phones that move in the same numbers when talking about batteries . We refer to the Galaxy A9 with 3,800 mAh and the Honor Play and Huawei Mate 20 lite with 3,750 mAH, enjoying all super fast charging. The tail is undoubtedly the Xiaomi Mi A2 -under these lines-, not only for having less capacity (3,010 mAh compared to 3,100 BQ Aquaris X2 Pro) but for having a slower slow charge .
We arrived at the price , possibly the most tricky item . The four competitors presented in this table have prices that do not exceed 400 euros . The Honor Play has a very attractive cost of 329 euros; the BQ Aquaris X2 Pro is planted at 379.90 euros; and the Huawei Mate 20 lite stays at 399 euros. Below all of them is the Xiaomi Mi A2, with a label of only 249 euros. The Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018), however, rises to 499 euros , a figure whose justification could perhaps be found in its four cameras and Super AMOLED screen, but that first may cost to understand within what is considered the range half.
Which phone do you find most balanced and attractive? Does the price difference of the Galaxy A9 (2018) compensate you to enjoy its unique benefits?
