With the presentation of the Samsung Galaxy A7 2018 , the manufacturer has offered us this morning a preview of the news coming to his family of mid-range smartphones. How important are the changes? What better way to quantify them with a comparison Samsung Galaxy A7 2018 VS Samsung Galaxy A7 2017 to check the differences .
While Samsung has implemented in the Samsung Galaxy A7 2018 screen “Infinity Display”, something that we have seen today with the Samsung Galaxy A8 in the first place and the Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A6 Plus later, the new Galaxy A7 itself highlights above all for a unique feature, and not only in the mid-range, but in the manufacturer’s catalog. We refer to the camera.
Camera, the main novelty and major change
As we discussed, the camera of the Samsung Galaxy A7 2018 is, by far, the biggest difference compared to the Galaxy A7 2017 and the other models of the firm. And is that, for the first time in history, Samsung makes use of a triple rear camera with a main sensor of 24 megapixels with aperture lens f / 1.7, a second sensor of 8 megapixels and wide-angle lens of 120 degrees and aperture f /2.4 and a third sensor of 5 megapixels and lens f / 2.2 to capture the depth of field.
Here the change is notorious, just with the same technique as Huawei in its P20 Pro , but in a much cheaper model that also has the technology of artificial intelligence to enhance its software.
Undoubtedly, a breakthrough if we compare the only sensor of 16 megapixels and lens with aperture f / 1.9 of the Galaxy A7 2017.

Screen and other differentiating features.
The screen is another of the elements that presents a remarkable change compared to the previous generation. We are facing a Super AMOLED panel of six inches and FHD + resolution of 2,220 x 1,080 pixels compared to 5.7 inches and FullHD resolution of the Galaxy A7. In the same way, it changes the aspect ratio towards an ultra-panoramic concept of 18.5: 9 compared to the 16: 9 ratio of the previous generation.
As for the processor, the new model adopts the renewal of the Samsung Exynos 7 Octa chip series, in addition to the RAM and internal memory, which have expanded their capacity as you can see in the comparison table.
With regard to the battery , the Galaxy A7 2018 subtracts capacity by fixing a 3,300 mAh battery in front of the 3,600 mAh Galaxy A7 2017. A fact that a priori may be a step back, but we have to assess from the rest of the renovations with more efficient components from the energy point of view.
As we have indicated, the Samsung Galaxy A7 2018 also releases software version, adopting Android 8.0 Oreo with Samsung Experience series. However, the previous generation model also has Oreo as an update. The only difference that we appreciate in this regard is that the new model will extend software support further back in time.
You have the main differences between the Samsung Galaxy A7 2018 and the Samsung Galaxy A7 2017 reflected in the table above. However, we encourage you to turn to the MovilZona mobile comparator to compare in greater detail all the specifications of both models.
