The best of OnePlus 6
We started the house on the roof, and that’s for about 500 euros, few purchases are more recommended than this . Except the, no other terminal is capable of overshadowing it, and that is the traditional firms have the bad habit of offering medium range at 500 euros , something without any sense.
For the 500 euros that OnePlus 6 costs, We can not ask for more than what it offers , and more considering that the performance is quite better than many terminals that double in price.
The OnePlus 6 is the fastest mobile in the market, without more . Although this is largely due to the cut in the theme of the animations, it is amazing that there are hardly any response times. The user experience is quite good, the games work especially well, and moving between applications is a delight.
The gesture system It’s the best I’ve tried on an Android mobile . In fact,. They are very fast, functional, and eliminate the navigation bar , something that Android P must have done from the beginning. Definitely, OnePlus performance is excellent .
Of little they serve extensive tests of hours of video, navigation and others, since that does not reflect how long the battery lasts in our daily use . In our case, we have managed to reach the day / day and a half of duration , with about 5h of screen in the most demanding days – hours playing PUBG Mobile, taking photos, with a lot of 4G … -, and until 7 o’clock on screen in the most favorable days – medium brightness, much WiFi … –
If we add to this great autonomy Dash Charge, one of the best fast charging technologies in the world, we obtain the winning combination. It is practically impossible that the OnePlus 6 will leave you lying down in a day , so do not take into account the 3300mAh, the battery is great.
OxygenOS, face A
OyxgenOS maintains some aspects of Android AOSP, and adds a lot of customization. We can stand out the theme engine, which is practically perfect , a very functional game mode, control by gestures, personalization of the launcher … It’s a clean ROM that OnePlus promises to keep up to date , with support for 3 years and Android P as soon as possible.
After the Pixel ROM, OxygenOS is the best ROM that we can see in a high-end mobile , and we already know that once a ROM is clean and optimized, nothing – or almost nothing – can go wrong.
The worst of OnePlus 6
Camera in bad conditions
The OnePlus 6 camera is good, according to its price, although I can not help saying that I expected better results in the night section . It’s still a 500-euro mobile, and there are some rather strong inconsistencies. By day, as we said, he does it quite well, we found some marginal problem with the approach, but nothing serious. The photos are sharp, with a very good HDR .
However, on the other hand, the portrait mode is a bit inconsistent , the front camera reminds us a lot of a mid-range cell phone, and the video recording is not outstanding either. At night, the results are not good , the watercolor effect and focus problems appear as soon as the light goes out, leaving us clear the price range of this terminal.
The B side of OxygenOS
Just like I said that OxygenOS is good on its face A, it’s about face B. I’ve had some close, freeze and ROM-related bugs, something that will be solved with updates, but that should not be there. The response of the screen -latency- is still lower than that of the other ROMs , that is, the time that passes between you touch the screen and it reacts, is greater than that of other phones
Shot speed of OnePlus 6 🤦🏾♂️
– Mr. Bricker (@ MrBricker4all)
On the other hand, despite having a Snapdragon 845 and 6 or 8 GB of RAM, the shooting speed in the camera is too slow . We do not have the zero shutter lag – there are no delays between pressing the button and the photo is taken – something incomprehensible in a phone with these characteristics.
While it is not an excessively bad point, yes we have to give a small ears tug to OnePlus with the audio. At the volume level it is correct, but its quality reminds us of mobile phones of a much lower category . This aspect, however, is counteracted by the presence of the headphone jack, Rare avis on Android, and input that we greatly appreciate on this and any other high-end phone.
OnePlus 6, that’s what your cameras are like
OnePlus goes back to betting on a double camera configuration, with 20 +16 megapixels. Curiously, we do not have 2X zoom, something that some users appreciated , although I have to admit that it is not my case. The camera application is quite improvable, especially in terms of speed, but it works well.
The front camera is 16 megapixels, and features portrait mode. A decent camera for its price, although it might surprise something else . Let’s see it more thoroughly.
Day behavior, portrait and night mode
In the daytime section, he does it quite well. The level of detail is good, the HDR is able to offer a very good dynamic range, and the color interpretation is excellent . It is a very usable camera with good light, it makes you want to take pictures. We can enjoy this camera a lot if we have some skill , provided the conditions accompany
In the night section and portrait mode, the OnePlus 6 starts to kneel the knee . The watercolor effect appears too early , it is unable to obtain detail and the focus is conspicuous by its absence even in medium-low light conditions. The front camera we did not like it , and it tends to overexpose even if there is not even light. We have done some portraits in areas of pure shade, and still managed to burn the background completely.
The approach at night is bad, it is unable to make some macros. We expected something of higher quality despite its price range.
The video recording is correct. The stabilizer complies, not being the best of its price range, but allowing to eliminate all vibrations even if we go in a cheerful march. We have the option to record up to 4K 60FPS, and slow motion up to 1080P 240FPS. The autofocus is correct , and the dynamic range behaves decently.

It’s not a point to highlight, but a correct video section , for the eventual videos that we want to record.
Should you buy the OnePlus 6?
Yes. In fact, the OnePlus 6 is one of the smartest purchases of the moment. It is not a perfect terminal, but it costs practically half of the others. A terminal more than worthy in almost all aspects, with good performance, battery life, finish, ROM … The camera and the audio make it clear to us that there is a small step below the Premium high-end , But does it pay to spend 500 euros more to have a better user experience?
The high range of 1,000 euros continues to make sense for those who seek excellence in all aspects. For all others, who either do not use the camera so much or do not need the highest resolution on a screen, this type of terminal is a must purchase.
In you lies the answer. For the bulk of users, a OnePlus 6 is everything that can be ordered, and it is up to the most exquisite to bet on the high range of 1,000 euros, seeking excellence in cameras, audio and some other aspect. The general balance of this terminal is practically insurmountable , and what most calls us from the firm, is the longevity of their products , since they have a longer life than many other high-end terminals.
OnePlus progessa adequately, some will criticize a totally logical price rise, since can not keep less than 300 euros of the original OnePlus One , in a terminal that is so dangerously close to mobile whose price is close to or exceeds 4 figures. The OP6 costs every euro, no more, no less, and this is a value to take into account.
OnePlus has gone up in price, like the rest of the companies. Currently, nobody offers more for less money, and that is their main asset.
As a criticism and more personal reflection, we would like a greater commitment to the camera and the audio. In the absence of deeper comparisons, we think that Xiaomi has raised the concept better this year in its Mi Mix 2S, with an integrated AI that really helps, and taking into account that the camera is still very important for many users. As for the audio, it is not understood as low quality in a product of 500 euros, so we expect improvements in the revision T.
This year, Carl Pei barely hinted at the camera in the presentation of the OnePlus 6 , telling us in an indirect way that they had not put all their efforts into it, something that has been noticed. As for OxygenOS, it remains a system that is far from polishing and optimizing Google ROM, being an extremely fast ROM, which needs some more effect smooth .
Price and where to buy
If you want to buy the OnePlus 6, you should know that you can get it at a great price. If you are going to buy it from Spain, we recommend doing it in, a Spanish store that will send it to you within a maximum period of 48 hours , with SAT in our country. As always, you also have it in, at a slightly higher price.
If you reside outside the European community, Chinese stores are your option,
In short, the OnePlus 6 is a recommended purchase. Fast mobile, well finished, with correct multimedia sections, and an excellent quality despite its low price. It is not perfect or intended to be for 500 euros, so we have to be clear that we can not demand the same as a top of the range of 1,000 euros.
Power, speed and clean experience at low prices. Buy recommended for most users who are looking for a powerful mobile.
