We have not seen new tablets on Android for a while now. The iPad has managed to get this market , thanks to its software exclusively designed for the same device, something that Android does not see in the same way, since we have practically the same thing that we find in smartphones, but in a longer format.
Huawei wants to resuscitate the world of Android tablets, and for that, has created the new MediaPad M5 . The truth is that it seems a mature proposal, with the essence of the signature and technology quite current -in the majority of the set-.
This is the new Huawei MediaPad M5
As we can see on Huawei’s own page , the MediaPad aims to stand out for its screen of 10.8 or 8.4 inches with 2K resolution. It also has speakers signed by Harman Kardon, one of the most distinguished firms in the world of sound. As for the interiors, the tablet has the Kirin 960 – the same as found in terminals like the Huawei P10 or P10 Plus **, accompanied by Android Oreo 8.0.
Its battery is 5100mAh with fast charge , amperage that seems quite scarce, especially in the model of 10.8 inches, and even more so if we consider the almost 10,000 of the iPad. The incorporation of the M-Pen, a very thin optical pencil that will allow us to interact with the MediaPad screen, is striking.
Kirin 960 processor
Screen of 10.8 or 8.4 inches with 2K resolution
32, 64 or 128 GB of internal storage
4 GB of RAM
13 megapixel main camera, 8 megapixel front
USB Type C, fast charging, front fingerprint reader
The reader is striking forward, good news for lovers of this classic technology and almost extinct, as well as the good overall design of the tablet, built in aluminum. Its price, in the versions of 32 GB 8.4 and 32 GB 10.8 ranges between 310 and 400 euros . A price according to the hardware of the device, which many will be willing to pay for a good tablet away from iOS.
