Xiaomi has followed a somewhat controversial strategy with the launch of its Mi MIX family. Since the launch of the first version, the official images of the phone did not offer a real perspective of what the user was going to find when they had the phone in their hands.
We refer obviously to the invisible bevels of the device, frames that in theory offered almost imperceptible dimensions, but that at the moment of truth showed dimensions closer to the normal than to the exceptional.

Well, if they already repeated it with the Mi MIX 2, with the new Mi MIX 3 it was not going to do less. The device is characterized by eliminating the front camera of the screen and hiding behind it with a striking sliding system that allows to lower the screen a few centimeters with respect to the body of the device. Seen this way the result is spectacular, since the official images of the brand show a very striking front in which the OLED screen takes all the prominence, however, it seems that the story is repeated with the frames, since the first images Live the device let see the harsh reality.
The frames of the Mi MIX 3 are bigger than you think
This is what we can see in some images published by Ben Geskin in his Twitter account, where we can see a comparison between an official rendered image and a real photograph of the product. Comparing both images we can see how the screen bezel is actually wider than we could expect, especially in the lower part, where the elimination of the front camera (placed there in the Mi MIX 2) has allowed the bezel to be rushed more in this new generation.
The result is therefore different from what the brand wants to make us see with official images, a common practice in Xiaomi that users should keep in mind before purchasing the product. And beware, we’re not saying margins are bad, but they’re not that spectacular either. It is also worth mentioning that in the actual photo of the product the perspective from which the photo was taken has repercussions on the right side of the device, since it seems to show more width on that side.
What actually happens is that we are seeing part of the chassis, which takes a rounded shape to the sides to facilitate the grip, a detail that increases the visual width of the device, and that curiously forgot to include in the official images, since the cut It is straight and clean.
