Finally, CNE, the Chilean energy regulator, announced that it would apply Blockchain technology to the country’s energy grid.

According to the news source, CNE will use Blockchain technology to confirm information such as high fuel and cost prices, compliance with renewable energy laws.

CNE executive secretary André Romero, stressing the importance of data security in advancing towards blockchain technology, said:

“The National Energy Commission has decided to use this innovative technology. Blockchain technology will allow us to record without changing the information we provide on the open data portal. We decided to use this technology as a digital notary. ”

In addition, André Romero believes that technology will increase confidence in what is provided by the regulatory body. Chile plans to launch Blockchain technology in the national energy grid in March 2018.
