Greetings, you faithful Nintendo! Loyal people that you are, a Wii U rests under your television. The console never touched bottom and now it has been replaced by the Nintendo switch, but that does not mean that there are not yet good games for it.
See the list below to see the games that make the Wii U shine.
#1. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a monumental artistic achievement, a video game so creative and full of surprises that we will talk about in the coming years. It is also different to any previous Zelda game. For years, Zelda games were defined by “no”. You can not get to this place until later; You can not solve this puzzle until you get the correct object. Breath of the Wild is Zelda’s best game to date, and he does it by simply saying yes.
A good match for: anyone who likes games that allow you to explore and have fun; horse lovers
It is not a good match for: anyone who prefers the strict structure of other recent Zelda games.
#2. Super Mario 3D World
The big studio of EAD Tokyo makes its debut on Wii U with Super Mario 3D World, a game as attractive and fun as those others. It’s a hell of a time, a fun hybrid of the most linear and classic side-scrolling Mario games and the 3D Mario games to go anywhere, like Super Mario 64.
You can play as Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach or Toad or, with friends in the same room, all four at once. Part of the game may seem familiar, but this is not one of those new safe Super Mario games. Yes, there are many goombas to hit and balls of fire to throw. There is also a lot that feels fresh.
A good match for: Bored people of the standard Mario rate that wants something more experimental than the games of New Super Mario Bros.
It is not a good match for: People eager for a game that takes full advantage of the Wii U. You can play the game completely in the controller and sometimes you have to play the GamePad or play it from time to time.
#3. Super Smash Bros.
Have you ever wondered who would win in a fight between Peach and Luigi? What about Luigi … and the Wii Fit Trainer? Okay, what about a fight between Peach, Luigi, the Wii Fit Trainer and Duck Hunt’s dog? Thanks to Super Smash Bros, you can find out.
Super Smash Bros. contains an endless supply of bonus modes, alternate game types and hidden secrets, in addition to all combats. But while there may be many strange and fun things to explore, the game still thrives in the ring.
A good match for: People who like to play games with friends and roommates, anyone who wants to see Duck Hunt Dog repeatedly be kicked by Little Mac.
It is not a good match for: people who do not usually have friends to play with, people who do not have a lot of drivers for their Wii U, anyone looking for a game with a meaningful story.
# 4. Splatoon
The great competitive Wii U online shooter does not look much like other competitive online shooters; it’s more “Nintendo” than that. You play like a handful of adolescent squids competing with each other by firing ink pistols all over the place, and then they quickly transform into a cephalopod shape and move from place to place. Splatoon delights in their difference, and adorns their cheerful game with a sense of agile and exuberant style.
A good match for: Competitive players, people who like squid, people who like their shooters with little (or much) personality.
It is not a good match for: Those looking for a more traditional online shooter or more traditional shooter controls.
#5. Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE
Take the demonic battles of Shin Megami Tensei and the Fire Emblem strategy. Mix a group of Japanese teenagers who want to be famous but discover that the pop idol world of Tokyo is infested with demons. What do you get? Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE.
The story is usually silly and occasionally youthful, but Tokyo’s modern environment is refreshing. More importantly, the turn-based battles of the game, which are presented through the visual metaphor of supercharged and transformed pop stars fighting in concert-packed arenas, are satisfactorily strategic. The game also uses the Wii U GamePad very well as a kind of smartphone that shows the many, many text messages that the characters send each other throughout the game.
A good match for: the fans of the games of roll that look for something that is not established in the habitual surroundings.

It is not a good match for: People who do not care or do not like modern Japanese pop culture; This game is soaked in it.
# 6 Bayonetta 2
Bright lights, loud music and an imposing dominatrix that overcomes the hell of a lot of monsters: Bayonetta gets the sequel he deserves. Everything that made the first game, the second game works the same, while throwing a lot of new weapons and skills at the top. If you’ve ever wanted to whip a massive angel with hair, this is your game. Strike a pose
A good match for: Fans of fast-moving action games like Devil May Cry and, well, the first Bayonetta.
It is not a good match for: anyone looking for something relaxed to play, people who prefer games with a more subtle and discreet aesthetic.
# 7 The Legend of Zelda: The wind waker HD
Take one of the most beautiful games of the Legend of Zelda franchise. Regain mastery of HD graphics and add things that optimize and improve the gaming experience. It will end with a game that will rethink its place in the canon of the Nintendo RPG action series.
A good match for: Zelda fans, people who hated navigation in the original Wind Waker. The HD version features a Swift Sail tool, which improves the speed of your boat and frees you from having to change the wind on longer trips.
It is not a good match for: players who wanted the final section too long to be cropped. The infamous adventure before the last Wind Waker showdown is still inflated and still kills the impetus of the game.
# 8 Pikmin 3
Supposedly conceived while the creator of Mario and Donkey Kong, Shigeru Miyamoto, thought of gardening, the games of Pikmin they allow players to control an army of up to 100 small colorful creatures that behave like a cross between plants and ants. The game is played more or less from an aerial view.
The field of play is an enlarged version of the Earth where, according to the vision of our titular characters, the flowers could also be trees. Players control any of Alph’s three tiny scouts, Brittany, Charlie, all of whom can rip the Pikmin off the ground, gather them to swarm big enemies, and drag what are, for our scouts, massive pieces of fruit house size. The better you do this, the easier it will be to grow an army of bigger Pikmin, which in turn can face harder enemies and overcome intricate and complicated obstacles. This sequel to Wii U features excellent cooperative and competitive modes to complement a fairly short nine-hour campaign.
A good match for: fans of the strategy games that enjoy StarCraft or Command & Conquer and, therefore, look for a game that involves the use of ingenuity and reflexes to conceive a complex plan of several units and carry it out.

It is not a good match for: Those who have already played Pikmin games on the GameCube or Wii and are looking for something that looks more like a sequel than a refinement of something they played before.
# 9. Super Mario Maker
Do you like Mario? Of course yes. Well, thanks to Super Mario Maker, now you can have an endless blow on Mario and eat mushrooms until your eyes come out. Mario Maker is apparently a game that allows you to create your own custom Mario levels, and it is very fun to do so. But it’s just as fun to be a player, working on the disc levels made by Nintendo before branching out to see if you can survive the strangest, funniest and most fanatical Mario levels you’ve ever played.
A good match for: fans of Mario, people who have always wanted to design videogame levels but have not had the tools.
It is not a good match for: people who hate Mario, those who would prefer to simply play Mario’s direct game.
10 Mario Kart 8
Ah, the blue shell. There may not be a better metaphor for the desolation of life. In a minute you’re sailing, on top of the world, and then … BAM, you’re totally dirty. Just when you thought you had it in the bag, life throws a blue shell.
Mario Kart 8 is not really that philosophical, of course. It’s the same Mario Kart formula readjusted and polished to an absurd degree, easily one of the funniest party games you can play and one of the best games for the Wii U.
A good match for: People who like to move really fast, people who like to see Luigi look really mean.
It is not a good match for: Those who loved Battle Mode in the latest Mario Kart games. For some inexplicable reason, the battle mode of MK8 takes place on normal racing tracks, which significantly dilutes the appeal.
#eleven. The Wonderful 101
Being a superhero is funny enough by itself, being 100 superheroes at once is just ridiculous. As the eponym Wonderful 100 (the extra 1 is YOU), your job in this game is, of course, to save the land from the marauding aliens. To do this, transform your band of crusaders with cape into pistols, swords and boomerangs in a series of chaotic and satisfying fights. Combine the frantic action with some spectacular fights in giant robots and incredible landscapes, and you have one of the most original games of the Wii U.
A good match for: People who love fast-paced action games that challenge both minds and thumbs. This is a game that requires commitment, and if you stick to it, you will be rewarded.
It is not a good match for: People who want a game that is easy to learn and enjoy. This takes some learning.
# 12. ZombiU
ZombiU’s undead apocalypse feels cooler due to its London ambience, but it’s really a chain link player’s campaign and the asymmetric multiplayer mode that makes it shine. There is something morbidly about having to search and loot the walking corpse of the character you previously controlled – to keep the best team after dying – while you play alone. And facing each other in the asymmetric multiplayer battles of the game makes controlling the bad more fun than being the hero.
A good match for: horror fans of passive-aggressive survival, those who are looking for a game that uses the Wii U controller in interesting ways.

It is not a good match for: Those who want meaningful relationships with playable characters. Apart from “Zombies! My God! Do not die! “The avatars that you control in ZombiU for a player do not have much to do with the background story and motivation.
