A few days ago my friend Miguel was talking about a device with a model number H8416 that had just been filtered thanks to the well-known GFXBench graphical performance test and that aims to be the future Sony Xperia XZ3 . Today we echo another filtration in which the model number is H8616, which indicates that we are facing a variation of the previous model, and that we could be before the Sony Xperia XZ3 Premium, the successor of the Xperia XZ2 Premium .
This information has been known thanks to a UAProf (User Agent Profile) from Sony, and it has allowed us to know some characteristics of the future Sony flaghip. We tell you that we know about the Xperia XZ3 Premium course.
The Xperia XZ3 Premium: UHD screen and Android P?
From the filtered information, we know that the Sony H8616 will have a screen that will leave the 16: 9 and adopt an aspect ratio of 18: 9 with resolution of 3840 x 1920 pixels.
For now we do not know what the final screen size will be, but if we take into account that the Xperia XZ2 Premiun integrates a diagonal of 5.8 inches, we can expect that the new format will take us to the 6 inches next to narrower frames that Sony has accustomed us.
Like the H8416, this H8616 also stands out because it appears in the information filtered with Android P (Android 9) as an operating system, and here I can only share the reflection that my partner was doing the other day.
If we take into account that Sony usually takes advantage of the IFA in Berlin to present its devices, it is impossible for the Xperia XZ3 Premium to be launched with Android P, because doing so would be ahead of Google’s own presentation, and we do not believe that Google wants to allow Sony will take away that privilege from Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL.
So, there are two possibilities that occur to us, the first is that in the filtered information we are only seeing a test terminal and Sony present the Xperia XZ3 and XZ3 Premium with Android Oreo upgradeable; the second is that Sony delayed the launch of their devices a few weeks breaking with tradition to be able to boast of releasing the first “No-Google” devices that hit the market with Android P.
Because of the filtered information we can not know anything else about this future device, but we can expect it to integrate a state-of-the-art hardware with a SoC Snapdragon 845, a minimum of 6 GB of RAM (possibly 8 GB) and a storage that should start at 64 or 128 GB.
As we said, all these are mere assumptions, because the only thing clear is the existence of the phone and the screen and operating system specifications leaked, but it could be that we were actually facing any other new device of the company. We will have to wait for the IFA 2018 to leave doubts.
